Apr 16, 2026

Davillier Law Group partner Jonathan Lewis was recently named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers magazine in the specialized field of sports & entertainment law.

Each year, Super Lawyers recognizes the top attorneys nationwide, using independent research and peer input. Rising Stars are the top 2.5% of young lawyers by peer recognition and professional accomplishments as rated by Super Lawyers’ independent research, peer evaluation, and advisory board review.

Jonathan was recognized last year as a Rising Star in business litigation.

Congratulations, Jonathan- again!

Jonathan D. Lewis is a partner at the New Orleans office of Davillier Law Group and a seasoned business litigation and sports and entertainment law attorney with nearly a decade of trial experience. He represents businesses, entrepreneurs, athletes, performers, and entertainment industry professionals in complex disputes and transactions across Louisiana and throughout the United States, including in New York, Texas, Oregon, Arizona, Florida, and California.

Mr. Lewis is an experienced trial attorney whose litigation practice spans complex commercial disputes, contract disputes, business torts, intellectual property and trademark infringement, products liability, toxic torts, and construction litigation. He represents clients at every stage — from pre-suit investigation and emergency relief through trial and post-trial proceedings — in Louisiana state and federal courts and across multiple jurisdictions nationwide, including New York, Texas, Oregon, Arizona, Florida, and California. His litigation practice is defined by thorough preparation, persuasive argument, and a commitment to obtaining results for clients at trial — skills honed through his participation in Loyola’s Moot Court Program, where he served as an Oralist on the Civil Rights & Liberties moot court team.

Mr. Lewis also has particular experience in the immediate response, assessment, and defense of catastrophic incidents and natural disasters, a distinct and critical area of business litigation that demands rapid legal deployment and strategic judgment under pressure.

Beyond the courtroom, Mr. Lewis has significant experience resolving complex business disputes through alternative dispute resolution, including both domestic and multi-jurisdictional mediation and arbitration proceedings, providing efficient and cost-effective resolutions when appropriate.

Jonathan Lewis is a recognized sports and entertainment law attorney representing individual athletes, performing artists, record labels, entertainment companies, and their agents and representatives. His practice covers contract negotiation and drafting, intellectual property and copyright protection, trademark enforcement, and litigation of entertainment and sports-related business disputes. He has resolved matters for individual performers, record labels, and their representatives, counseling clients on the full range of legal challenges that arise in the business of sports and entertainment.

Mr. Lewis earned his J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2016, concentrating in the Civil Law Division with a focus on Entrepreneurship and Intellectual Technology, and his B.S. in Criminal Justice from Loyola University in 2012. While in law school, he was an Oralist on the Civil Rights & Liberties Moot Court team and an active member of the Sports & Entertainment Law Society.

He is licensed and admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts.

Mr. Lewis is committed to the New Orleans community, serving as a youth mentor with Son of A Saint, committee chair and member of the Greater New Orleans Louis A. Martinet Legal Society, and a member of the New Orleans Bar Association and the Young Leadership Council of New Orleans.
